Feng Xie and William Hua - NSERC Graduate Scholarships
Awards in 2008
Two AdvOL student members were awarded prestigious scholarships by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Feng Xie got the NSERC Postgraduate Scholarship (PGS-D) and William Hua got the Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS-M). Our congratulations to the scholarship recipients.

Eissa Nematollahi - Finalist at the ICCOPT Young Researcher Competition

Oleksandr Romanko - 1st Prize at the MITACS Poster Competition

Simulation Success - CORS/VISUAL8 Student Modeling Competition

Our team of Kimia Ghobadi, Olesya Peshko, Imre Pólik and Oleksandr Romanko won first prize at the 1st CORS/VISUAL8 Student Simulation Competition. The event was sponsored by the Visual8 Corporation as part of the 2007 Canadian Operational Research Society conference held in London (ON), May 13-16, 2007.

A Team Effort - 1st Prize at the International Operations Research Case Competition

Our team of Kimia Ghobadi, Olesya Peshko and Oleksandr Romanko won the first prize at the 1st International Operations Research Case Competition (IORCC 2007), held at Simon Fraser University, January 21-23, 2007 as part of the 2nd International Conference on Algorithmic Operations Research (AlgOR 2007).
